Wireless Watchdog
Problem
My lousy router/AP (Buffalo WHR-G54S with DD-WRT v23 SP2) likes to drop the ATV (1.0, no safe update) off the wireless network if it's been connected to the AP for a few (3-4) days. Works fine after a reboot via power cord. I suck at shellscripting.
Potential Solution
- Create a watchdog or something that detects when the AirPort has lost comm with the AP, and then restarts networking services to bring the interface back online.
- Somehow get crontab installed on the ATV and get it to restart network services every day at a specified time.
