If you did archive install (where it saves your previous system) when you installed leopard, with some tweaks to the createPatchstick script to copy the files from /Previous System.localized/<datestamp>, it can be made to work.  But I still had some problems getting ssh to work (my archived previous system was 10.4.11).  I ended up modifying the launchd script on the patchstick to mount the recovery partition, overwrite the recovery image with a 1.0 OS.dmg (my @tv came with 1.1), then factory restore'd and then finally ran the patchstick again against 1.0...

Apple TV has new firmware, a new interface and a raft of new features! We need to know where we can download the image of this firmware, so we can start taking it apart!

I just downloaded and installed it, it looks like whatever the AppleTV itself checks updates against hasn't been updated with Take2 so I just reinstalled 1.1.

Edit: oh. Apple's site. "Coming Soon." My patchstick has long been formatted... and apparently they don't work under Leopard quite right. Damn.
