Thanks, I've moved them to a new "containers" table. Have you tried [http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/ XiphQT]? It should be able to play Ogg Vorbis/Theora, thought I haven't tried. --[[User:Lostorbit|Lostorbit]] 17:15, 7 April 2007 (CEST)

I've installed XiphQT. It installs fine and ogms are playable - the audio works, however it doesn't seem to play the video stream (though I've only got a limited amount of ogms to try). None of the plugins list oggs in the file listings though so I can't find them to play. Anyone know how to do this as they should play given that I have got the audio (ogg) from an ogm playing? From the Home Page: WMV doesn't seen to play. Flip4Mac component doesn't seem to work

Are you sure that WMV works on the Apple TV?

I've tried several Windows Media 9 files and they played just fine. --Lostorbit 02:17, 7 April 2007 (CEST)

Matroska works with Perian SVN and also with MatroskaQT. Neither is really usable. I haven't tested OGM, but I haven't seen any quicktime components that claim to support it. Both OGM and MKV are containers, not codecs and should be treated as such. Another interesting problem is stream selection, maybe some way to use the +/- keys on the remote to cycle through the streams.--Czarcats 11:01, 7 April 2007 (CEST)

720p divx plays fine for me with no chopping, on a wired connection. much chopping on my overcrowded g wireless network.

I would love to see a place to download sample video files in these various formats, to help with Apple TV owners testing and reporting. When I get some time, I'll try to hunt some, but please let me know if you have anything that would help. --Lostorbit 06:07, 11 April 2007 (CEST)

Can anyone point to a simple "how to get .vob" files (with menus) to work on atv tutorial? I have ripped all DVD's to my home Terastations, was using horrible Media Center Edition, and with just this one tiny addition, apple TV would be everything I could ever need. I know there are some hacks aimed at .vob as part of other file format enablings, but has anyone seen something specific to the .vob issue?

Perian 1.0 feedback

Has any one here been able to play successfully .mkv files using Perian 1.0 ? I have tried a few 720p file with no success only get sound working.

What is the best way to report this to the people developing Perian? LeMarsu 15:36, 19 July 2007 (CEST)

LeMarsu, read my comment about removing Apple's H.264 component in article --Gbooker 07:03, 28 July 2007 (CEST)
